Accessibility

This site should work if you use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, or text zoomed well past its normal size. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA. That is the target we hold ourselves to. We do not claim a legal certification or a formal audit by a third party.

What we do

• Every page starts with a skip link so you can jump past the menu.
• Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure instead of guessing.
• Every data table names its column and row headers, so a cell read on its own still tells you what it means.
• Images carry text descriptions. Images that are purely decorative are marked so a screen reader skips them instead of reading noise.
• Buttons and links show a visible focus outline, and tap targets are at least 44 pixels tall on a phone.
• Body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, and larger text meets 3:1.
• Answers to common questions are written into the page itself rather than hidden behind a control you have to find and open.

What we do not do

We do not use an accessibility overlay, a toolbar widget, or a plugin that claims to fix a site automatically. Those tools frequently get in the way of the screen reader or keyboard setup you already have working. We fix the pages instead.

Known gaps

We check pages with automated scans and by hand with a keyboard, and we fix what those find. Some older articles still carry layouts we have not reworked yet. If you hit one, tell us and we will move it to the front of the queue.

Tell us when something breaks

If any part of this site is hard to use, email editorial@anvilroad.com. Tell us the page address and what happened. Include the browser and any assistive software you use if you can, since that usually tells us where to look. We read every message and aim to reply within five business days.
